Included are ca. 18 cubic feet of record albums of New York Philharmonic performances from the orchestra's first recording in 1917 to the present; ca. 155 cubic feet of audio tapes of New York Philharmonic live- and pre-recorded concerts and radio broadcasts, 1932-present; 5 cubic feet of video tapes of concerts, television shows, interviews, advertisements, a master class taught by Zubin Mehta, and other events, 1960s-1970s; and ca. .5 cubic feet of documentary films, films of interviews, and other films, ca. 1960s, relating to the New York Philharmonic. Also, some recordings made by the New York Symphony Society, and the New (National) Symphony Orchestra which merged to form the current orchestra in the 1920s.
